They have been described as a “the credibility layer to the internet”, “fake news search engine” and “the world’s first intelligent news feed.” In a nutshell, they use Natural Language Processing, machine learning and human oversight to identify bias and misinformation on any given topic.
They are looking for a recent graduate familiar with political writing and critical evaluation of arguments and sources. The ideal candidate will be an expert in International Politics and Regional affairs and would enjoy investigating claims, fact-checking and working with digital technologies.
-Providing context for major national and regional stories
-Technology Assisted Fact Checking of mainstream media coverage and any hoaxes on digital platforms
-Advice their technology teams on how fact-checking and data sourcing protocols should be adapted to meet region specific needs
-Building contacts in many areas to maintain a flow of claim verification, such as with the police and emergency services, local council, community groups, press officers from a variety of organisations and the public
-Strong portfolio to be presented and discussed during interview.

-Ability to grasp complex issues quickly and explain them in simple, concise language
-Good organisation skills and the ability to work under pressure to tight deadlines
