    ✔️ Company Overview

      
    This FCA-regulated firm, founded in the late 1990s has worked with the top 50 buyout funds globally since it’s inception. This includes CVC, Blackstone, Apax, H&F and Cinven as well as pension funds, sovereign wealth funds, family offices and hedge funds.
      
    They support entrepreneurial world-class executives to develop proprietary deal ideas with enterprise values in excess of $1bn. They then partner them with selected large-cap PE funds and other sources of private capital to execute the deal.
      
    In this role, you’ll aim to become your clients’ confidant, your large-cap PE clients will look to you to help them find and influence buy-in board, management and advisers to exclusively work with them, to due diligence assets and gain angles vs their competitors on on-market deals. The company also selectively work on staffing their large-cap PE clients’ existing portfolio companies at the C-suite and above.
      
    Their single integrated team covers all sectors (e.g. Technology Media & Telecoms, Industrials, Business Services, Consumer, Financial Services and Healthcare) and all geographies (e.g. North America and Europe). Much of their pro-active work involves executing subsector deep dives within sectors attractive to PE, speaking to industry-leading executives, and creatively gestating new deal ideas with them.
      
    The firm’s workstreams are split into two main areas:
      
    • On-market – Pre-deal advisory and angle generation: Identification of advisers for deal support, buy-in chairman/CEO identification, value creation plan development working with industrial advisers, transformative M&A planning
    • Off-market – Proprietary origination: Industry research, idea creation/development, strategy planning, value creation planning, LBO returns modelling, deal structuring, investment deck drafting and private capital sourcing
      
    Their business model is based on success fees and relationship fees from their clients.
      
    ✔️ Position Overview
      
    They are now looking for a Sector Analyst to help grow their business. This is an exciting opportunity to play an instrumental role within an entrepreneurial and innovative environment with a trusted brand in the large-cap private equity industry.
      
    Their Sector Analysts are the frontline for gathering and compiling industry information that supports the client team, executives, and investors shaping large-scale Private Capital deals. 
      
    As a Sector Analyst, you will support their Associates on executing specific workstreams on an overall client-led or pro-active project, day-to-day managed and executed by Senior Associates, and led by Principals.
      
    ✔️ Roles and Responsibilities
      
    Technical Ability
      
    • Gathering data on specific industries and business sectors (Healthcare, Industrials, Business Services, TMT, Financial Services and Consumer).
    • Present written and oral analysis in response to data gathered.
    • Learn the basic drivers behind an LBO model and how deal structures effect management incentive.
    • Become an expert user on key information database systems (the company CRM, Pitchbook, MergerMarket and BoardEx).
    • Prioritise projects effectively and handle increasing number of projects simultaneously.
      
    CEO and Industry Relationship Building
      
    • Shadow Associates, Senior Associates and Principals with senior executives over the phone, building rapport up with and asking questions of senior executives when necessary.
    • Develop and deliver the Skill Capital pitch when necessary, extracting key meeting information and notes.
      
    Culture Carrier

    ✔️ Qualifications and Experience
      
    Must have 0-2+ years of work experience across the following industries over their career to date:
      
    • Corporate finance (inc. M&A and investment banking)
    • Economics
    • C-suite consulting
    • Financial research
    • Financial journalism
    • Expert networks
    • Executive search
      
    Desirable but not essential:
      
    • To speak more than one European language
    • To have or be working towards an FMVA, CFA or other financial modelling accreditation
    • 2:1 or 1st at a recognised university
